Manipulation

Manipulation is a shitty experience that I have come across too many times. It’s a state of someone else taking advantage and using you for their own benefit. All this happening right in front of your eyes while you stay in the dark unaware until you take off the blindfold/ the rose tinted glasses and see the truth and reality for what it is. In these photographs I used rope as a symbol for not being in control of yourself, as if you are a puppet dangled on strings. For it is being used and taken over by another, pairing this with the colour red, symbolising danger, love and red flags. To exaggerate and visually display the victims blindness/ consumed perspective, by taking away their vision entirely. While the individual is intangled and stuck in this false connection unable able to see the truth, we see a story unfold as the individual takes away the false perspective of being manipulated and leaves the lies behind.
